Buchanan Castle Golf Club was established in 1936 and is owned by the Duke of Montrose. With its scenic views and hilly green surroundings the touring golfer will be offered the chance to play on a truly top class course.

A course as unique as its history Buchanan City has many intriguing aspects that make it a pleasure to play on. For example many holes have two trees at about 200 yards giving players an indication of when the dogleg will hit framing most fairways on the course. The 1st hole is a great example of this with golfers able to see the turn on the fairway.

That’s not to say that golfers will find the course a breeze. The 7th in particular is a stand out on this parkland course with a sharp dogleg and the adjacent river providing golfers with a challenging and potentially problematic hole.

Like any other golf course, players will only prevail if they bring a proper swing and patience. However beautiful views of mountains, river and forest near the shores of Loch Lochmond mean that even if a tee shot should go wayward, Buchanan Castle will be a course that any golfer will remember with fondness.
