Address: Cowal View, Gourock, PA19 1HD

Situated in the hills above the Clydeside town of the same name, Gourock Golf Club is a moorland course noted for stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The opening hole is a dramatic uphill par-5 that climbs to unveil a breathtaking panorama that takes in Dunoon, Holy Loch, Ben Lomond and the Argyllshire Hills.

Thereafter, the course bears a generous path through punishing moorland to small sloping greens. An exciting finish is in store at the tight, downhill par-3 17th that nestles in amongst thick woodland, before the short par-4 18th tempts players to take on an inviting dogleg toward an unguarded green.

The clubhouse facilities take in similarly striking views across the Clyde and, on the opposite side, the ninth and 18th greens return beneath a modern balcony area. It is the perfect setting to enjoy the wide range of drinks and fresh food available from the catering facilities.

Visitors and golf societies with handicap certificates are welcome at Gourock. It is advised to book in advance so as to avoid disappointment.
