On land leased from a local estate owner, Vale of Leven started life as a nine-hole course in 1907. Over looking the surrounding valley the course was extended in 1920 to accommodate a full 18 holes and overlooks some spectacular views of Loch Lomond.

Despite being relatively short course- the distance from the medal tees measures just over 5000 yards- Vale of Leven is not a course to take for granted. With the introduction of bunkers on even the shortest holes become tricky with an emphasis on shot selection and a delicate touch, rather than out and out power.
