Wells Golf Club

Set on the outskirts of historical Wells with its magnificent cathedral and delightful market square, Wells Golf Club is one of the gems of Somerset.

The wooded course is designed on two levels. Holes two to 11 circle the hills and offer views that must be among the best in the West Country. The undulating fairways on these can also provide some interesting shot types depending on where your ball decides to lie.

Stepping on the 12th you’ll know right away you’ve reached the course’s signature hole. Playing from the elevated tee here your faced with a tricky shot to hold the your ball on the correct level of the double-tiered green just by the clubhouse.

The remaining holes play along the floor of the wooded valley and require accuracy at all times as the fairways here are pretty tight owing to the natural lie of the land.

After your round you’ll notice the friendliness of the course extends into the comfortable clubhouse, where you can re-tell the ups and down of your round in the again and again.
