Kendal Golf Club proudly celebrated its centenary
in 1991 and indeed has now been at its present location for over 100 years, having
moved from 'The Old Racecourse' in 1896. Numerous improvements have been made
over the years, the most recent of which being lengthening the course to a par
70 and a refurbished clubhouse.
 From
the east you can see the splendour of the Westmorland Fells and beyond to the
Yorkshire Dales. While viewing from north to west the full majesty of the Lake
District mountains and valleys open up, before later looking southward towards
Morecambe Bay and the Lancashire Plain. The northern reaches of the course are
within the Lake District National Park.
The course has an excellent reputation for the fine standard of its greens and
fairways and the limestone drainage ensures the course is playable all year round.
There are holes which due to their distinctiveness provide challenges for the
most proficient or the higher handicap golfer. The club offers a warm welcome
to visitors and can offer packages to suit you or your party.
