Magdelene fields is adjacent to the beautiful and historic old town of Berwick-upon-tweed. The running of the course has only relatively recently been in the hands of the club. Extended to 18 holes in 1974 it lies adjacent to the sea.

The course opens with two relatively benign par fours that lead you into a much more impressive par five at the third. From here the course steadily builds in intensity until the hole appropriately named "Good Luck" calls for a tee shot played over a a section of the beach. The 11th hole, named the Bell Tower is the best par four on the course. Although not as aesthetically pleasing as some of the rest of the course it is a real find.
