Stoney Holme Golf Club

Situated just five minutes from Carlisle city centre, the course at Stony Holme Golf Club belies its urban location. Designed in 1974 by Frank Pennink, it is a parkland venue with glorious views of the Lakeland Fells and the Northern Pennines, encircled by two rivers that prove scenic and hazardous in equal measure.

Stony Holme is an 18-hole, par-69 course that measures 5,787 yards long from the white tees. Fairways seem to gradually taper as the holes progress, culminating in a finishing stretch that requires precision from tee to green. Relatively short, the premium is on accuracy rather than power at Stony Holme.

The resident PGA professional is available to offer advice on the latest equipment and the expert tuition necessary to get your handicap falling.

Visitors are welcome in the clubhouse, with full bar facilities entailing a selection of wines and beers. Snacks and freshly prepared meals are also available within the family-friendly atmosphere of the Riverside Restaurant, which enjoys panoramic views to accompany a wide range of tasty, great value home-cooked dishes.
