Wooler Golf Club

This 9 hole, 18 tee course occupies the high ground known as Dod Law in the village of Doddington. With three par 3's and three par 5's, the 6386 yardage from the white tees provides a stern challenge to all classes of golfer trying to match the S.S.S. of 70. Wooler is virtually an all weather course, only closing under the most severe of weather conditions.

With cheap green fees this must surely represent one of the best value for money courses in the country. The scenic quality of the site is there to be appreciated too. Spectacular views from the 7th tee over to Berwick upon Tweed to the north, to the sea and Lindisfarne to the east, while the vista to the west takes in the cheviot Hills and over the Glendale Valley to the border and beyond into Scotland.

There is also a great variety of wildlife to be observed. Red Grouse, skylarks, partridges and our resident wagtails are often seen, while foxes, stoats, weasels, hares and the occasional deer are less frequently seen. There is always a warm welcome in the clubhouse. Visiting parties and societies are especially welcome and can be accommodated and catered for on any weekday and most weekends.
