 The course itself is best described as a traditional
"Parkland" course, built on around 73 acres, which must surely be amongst
the smallest plots on which a proper 18 hole course has been built. Although
not a long course, measuring a mere 5918yds from the back tees, its undulating
terrain provides a suitable challenge for golfers of all standards with
SS of 69.
Whilst not a hilly course, the valley that runs through it ensures
plenty of sloping lies. The members believe that this is the way golf
should be played.The eighteenth hole which brings you back to
the Clubhouse, is claimed by many to be "the longest 400yds in the County"
when played into wind, and is certainly amongst the finest finishing holes
in the area.
The Kingsthorpe Golf Club has an established
reputation for a warm and welcoming club house atmosphere. Bar prices
are very reasonable and catering offers very good value for money. Societies
and companies return year after year to enjoy both the course and its
facilities.
