Unlike many courses, which seem to go in the opposite direction, Oxhey Park was originally opened in 1910 as an eighteen hole course in 1910 but consolidated in 1954 into a nine-holer.

Now a public pay and play venue , it is ideally suited to beginners or potentially high handicappers who are looking to improve certain aspects of their game, before taking up the challenge of one of the more difficult courses in the district.

That being said, several holes can still test even the very best as their undulating fairways have the potential to make the all-important approach shot very interesting indeed.

Special attention should be given to your second shots on the fifth and ninth holes as they are very well protected by both bunkers and the natural lie of the land.

Despite being of the shorter variety Oxhey Park has recently been rated among the top ten public golf courses by two national magazines, a tribute to a club that for many offers a stepping stone into more advanced surroundings.
