The Longstanton Golf Club Ltd was formed in 1991 and in 1992 the Cambridge Golf Club, a nine-hole golf course and driving range, was opened in Longstanton, just seven miles north-west of Cambridge city centre. The course itself is a nicely maturing parkland course designed as two loops of nine, both finishing at the clubhouse, with ponds, ditches and lakes. It has generous fairways and the rough won't overly punish you for wayward shots. When the wind blows the course becomes a good bit tougher. Take the 3rd for example. It's a long par 4 that plays directly into the prevailing wind with a narrow green defended by deep sand traps. If your card survives this one you're probably in for a good round! The clubhouse has catering 7 days a week and a pleasant bar area where you can relax after your round. The club welcomes visitors and society and corporate golf days can be arranged.
