Now in its 20th year, The Essex has been running since 1990 and its 18-hole Championship course has already won acclaim for its challenging yet fair features. The club is home to a course based upon designs by Reg Plumbridge and it has matured at an astonishing rate into a challenging and interesting round of golf with a whole host of opportunities for players of every ability to enjoy. With four par-3’s, nine par-4’s, five par-5’s, 10 lakes and strategically placed bunkers, this course is spectacular from start to finish. Regular golfers will also be impressed by the course maintenance which is at such a high standard thanks to fully computerised irrigation which uses water from the club’s own 13-million gallon reservoir. There is also a shorter nine-hole course to test out your game on which offers a different challenge altogether. It has tightly guarded greens and tricky par-4’s it is a completely varied style to the championship course. There is also a 20-bay floodlit driving range and some neat practice putting areas.
