The smaller of the two courses located at Cottesmore Golf Club, the Phoenix course is also the more forgiving of the pair.

This course has a more open middle section than the Griffin course and allows players a bit more freedom as they make their way around. It offers a great introduction to the sport with some easier holes as well as a test for the more complete golfer.

Like its sister course, Phoenix winds through tree lined areas.

The second is a great hole and seems to get tighter and tighter as the par-5 stretches away into the distance. The play here is straight through the oaks, with the second shot favouring the right to allow a chip onto the green.

The 13th is a tiny par 3 but do not be too confident as this shot is in between clubs and requires a deft touch to find the green. It is then down through a green edged trail before popping out onto the 14th which features a unique tee in the tee.
