Set out by five times British open champion, J.H. Taylor in 1929 the course is laid out on 205 acres of sloping Surrey woodland.

Since it was established it has become known as one of the top courses in the area and under its current ownership it has been further improved in both playability and reputation.

It boasts two advantages over many similar venues, the first being the history behind the club itself. Unlike many others, Selsdon Park dates back about a thousand years and it is steeped in history. The second is that, despite being just 12 miles from the centre of London, it provides one of the most stunning and secluded settings for golf.

The second hole is probably the finest. From the fairway the approach shot rises up the hill to the table green against a backdrop of mature trees – making for great golf in spectacular surroundings.

The course’s natural aspects are also fantastic, with marvellous spectacles of woodland, including sycamore, beech, oak, silver birch and some fine cedars on display.

Just 12 miles outside London. Junction 6 off the M25, follow the A22 north to Croydon, after six miles at the traffic lights turn right, direction Selsdon/Sanderstead onto A2022.
