Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club

Situated in the glorious Glouchestershire countryside, Stinchcombe Hills is set on a hilltop perfectly positioned to provide magnificent views of the Cotswolds. Founded in 1889, the course measures just under six thousand yards - a distance considered short by modern standards - but, in spite of that, it is by no means easy as the course record of 64 testifies, a score which is only four shots better than the standard scratch of 68.

The gently undulating fairways and cleverly positioned hazards make this course a challenge for all levels of golfer, whether a high or low handicapper. Good club choice, patience and accuracy from the tee are absolutely pivotal to scoring well at this beautiful but demanding course.

The original layout of nine holes was laid out in 1889 and lengthened to 18 holes in 1906. The course was re-designed by Fred Hawtree in 1922 and further modified between 1922 and 1936 following advice from one of the world’s best and most well known course architects – James Braid.
