Located
deep in the heart of the Cheshire countryside is Altrincham golf club,
which is home to one of the most popular municipal golf courses in the
county. In spite of its undulating fairways, this eighteen-hole course
is relatively easy-walking, although the par of 71 gives an indication
of the challenges that lie in wait - they are considerable enough to cause
even the most experienced golfer a few headaches.
For instance, water comes into play on many of the holes so your approach
play is going to be fully tested, as will your short irons. Spanning 6162
yards, the course is a good distance without being overly long, and the
mature woodland adds to its aesthetic appeal.
