Ellesmere is a wonderful parkland course with many natural hazards that will keep you on your toes throughout your round.

Holes that tend to stick in the memory include the third, a par five, the ninth, a par three and the 15th. The latter is a glorious par five where positioning off the tee is important if you want to give yourself a good enough chance of hitting the green in two, setting up a not-so-often birdie opportunity.

This course can be a pretty tough walk at times and, if you’re not playing to your usual good standard, can be quite draining. This game never was meant to be easy, though, was it?

Along with this well established golf course, Ellesmere also has great practice facilities, which consists of a 330 yard practice ground, pitching area, chipping and bunker green, practice net and putting green.

Located just ten minutes from Manchester city centre, this is one golf course that is suitably located and extremely easy to find, as it is situated adjacent to the East Lancashire Road (A580), prior to the eastbound junction of the M60.

Be sure to phone the club in advance to book your tee time with Green Fee Savers.
