Named after the author of the 17th century, the Complete Angler, this course is situated only two miles from the town of Stone, deep in the heart of the picturesque Staffordshire countryside.

Its gently undulating parkland layout measures a considerable 6370 off the white tees and progresses in two loops, each of which return back to the clubhouse and could be excellent nine-holers in their own right.

But the entire course is far greater than the sum of its parts. While distinct from its latter half, the front-nine offers the perfect start for those wishing to ease into a round. Its wide, we’ll defined fairways may allow the odd, opening, wayward drive to go unpunished and provide the opportunity to build up a decent score and rhythm before you hit the turn.

With tighter landing areas it’s a more stern test and with water in abundance and some fabulous risk and reward holes, it’s these nine that will really decide how well you score.
