Although a nine-hole course, differing tees for the back nine make it a different challenge on the way in.

Located through the listed historic park surrounding Gilling Castle, it boasts breathtaking views over the moors and woodlands, which are an experience in themselves.

Designed by Arthur Howell, a professional at York Golf Club and established in 1960, the course is being continually kept at a high standard with new tees and putting greens being constructed over the past 20 years.

The parkland course has been subject to bunkering projects over the last five years and combined with its undulating terrain, it makes for a challenging round of golf.

Although there are no clubhouse facilities at the club at present, it has been granted permission for a clubhouse and will begin work on this in the near future. With only three par-5’s and six par-3’s it makes for a tricky test of golf so make the most of any birdie opportunities.

The club professional offers lessons that have proved invaluable to club members and juniors.
