Crompton & Royton Golf Club

Widely considered one of Manchester’s best golfing venues, Crompton and Royton Golf Club provides amazing views across the countryside and cityscape. Renowned for its challenging layout, this course will punish the beginner, no matter what level they are at.

It may not be the longest course by modern day standards, but the heathland setting is full of surprises wherever you look.

The lush undulating fairways and manicured greens are testing in themselves without the added pressure of the wind, which tends to blow most days.

Set at the foot of the Pennie Hills between the lofty chimneys of the nearby cotton mills this has most definitely matured into a fine but fair test of golf.

The 17th, a cracking dogleg, will entice you into cutting the corner but that will prove a poor decision if you fail to make the grade and the 18th provides another stern test.
