Exiting, challenging and picturesque are only three of an infinite number of superlatives you could use to describe this course. Situated only 1 mile from Dewsbury town centre, it’s widely known as the best nine-holes in west Yorkshire.

In fact the term, ‘nine-holes’, should be used loosely in relation to Hanging Heaton. Different tee positions on the second circuit make the drive and subsequent shots on most holes a totally different prospect from the outward half.

Indeed, it’s no push over on either circuit, with 4 holes over or around 400 yards and a par-3, which from the whites measures a formidable 247 yards, anyone who plays here will notice that it’s one of the hardest ‘shorter’ courses out there.

It’s also one of the best value GFS venue and with such high calibre of holes you may well be surprised to learn that two rounds at Hanging Heaton will only set you back £16.

Course conditions are always pretty good and can be enjoyed all year round due to the diligence and care demonstrated by the green staff.
