Originally a nine-hole course, Walmersly was built in 1906, and has seen many improvements and enhancements to arrive at its current 18-hole layout.

The course measures 6,064 yards from the back tees. With a par of 71, players at Walmersly will have to take advantage of the three short par-3s to match the SSS of 70. Relatively short, the course at Walmersly demands accuracy rather than sheer, uncontrolled power. The greens, though large, must be found with precision so as to avoid long first-putts that often culminate in three strokes on the putting surface.
