Located in the in the small village of the same name between the cities of Aberdeen and Dundee, Edzell is a popular and easily accessible golf courses in the North East of Scotland. A true beauty its location at the entrance to the Angus Glens at the foothills of the Grampians makes it one of the most scenic courses in the country.

Renowned for the quality of its turf and true greens, accuracy is a must with out of bounds flanking close to most fairways and little rough to speak of. No more so than on the challenging 15th where the thin fairway is surrounded by out of bounds.

Originally a heathland, the course underwent a tree-planting programme over the last 25 years and as a result the course has more of a parkland feel to it. Those looking for an easy round should not be fooled by the opening hole as sterner tests follow.

The 2nd, a long par 4 with out of bounds flanking the fairway requires a tough approach shot made blind behind a ridge to a bunker protected green. As the course continues other challenges come in to play, as the flowing River West Water becomes a more visible presence.

With an excellent reputation for excellent catering and fine scenery, golfers who visiting the Angus area can ill afford to miss out on one of the countries true hidden gems.
