Alness offers a warm welcome to members and visitors alike and is a beautifully situated little course twenty miles north of Inverness. Often considered one of the “best kept secrets of the Highlands”, the course commands views of the Cromarty Firth to the south and the surrounding hillside. The club was established in 1904 and has seen many major changes to its nature since then, most notably in 1997 when the course was extended from a nine-holer to the full 18.

The course offers a great test to golfers of all abilities and there are some truly breathtaking holes. Take the par-4 sixth hole. This long par-4 looks over the Cromarty Firth and is one of the most picturesque holes on the course. The long par-4 12th is probably the trickiest.

Set in beautiful surroundings, this hole has a highly elevated tee dropping down to the fairway below and then back up to an elevated green and if you’re a big hitter try the extra challenge of driving the green off the tee!
