Situated just off the A82 at the west edge of the village, Fort Augustus Golf Course presents a challenge to even low handicappers as well as being readily accessible at reasonable cost to beginners. Although only nine holes, each hole has two sets of tees, giving outward and inward halves of different length and aspect, with pars of three, four and five over each nine holes length 5454 yards, par 67.

Visitors are very welcome at Fort Augustus Golf Club, where, generally, every day except Saturday there is no restriction on playing, and it would be unusual to wait more than a few minutes before stepping onto the first tee. Advance booking is not normally necessary. Clubs and trolleys are available for hire and after your round you can enjoy a refreshment in the lounge bar.

The Course is bounded on one side by Scots Pines lining the back of the Caledonian Canal and on the other by the heather and gorse clad Lochunagan Hill. The view to the west is of the spectacular and often snow clad Glengarry Mountains.
