Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club was founded in 1888 during a period when the Spa was gaining in popularity as a health resort. It lies in Ulladale among the hills on land belonging to Cromatie Estate, five minutes walk from the village centre. In situation and scenery it is unique among Scottish golf courses, sporting both natural and provided hazards over the full extent of its 40 hectare area and 4382 metre length.

The course is a short, but testing beautiful upland parkland course with panoramic views of mountain and moorland, set above the Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer. The course has only three bunkers, but plenty of natural hazards, with some testing shots across water. Par 65, with SSS 64, it would appear to be easy, but no one, professional or amateur, has ever broken 60.

Strathpeffer is a remarkably fine old-established 18 hole inland golf course. Numerous viewpoints reveal a vast panorama of country from the upper reaches of the Cromarty Firth to the mountainous terrain of the West. Visitors are warmly welcomed.
