Address: Townparks, Ardee, Co. Louth,

Situated only an hour from Dublin, this challenging 18-hole parkland course will test all levels of golfer, from the seasoned professional to the Sunday morning regular. Ardee is 6, 464 yards in length from the back tees and is guarded by the tree lined fairways, with water coming into play on nine holes.

Founded in 1911, the course originally consisted of only nine holes. Nine new holes were constructed in 1985 to the desire of Ryder Cup hero and favoured Irish designer Christy O'Connor Jnr. The course sits on lush, mature ground and offers an exceptional round of golf.

With its tunnel-like fairway bordered on both sides by majestic old trees and a well-bunkered green, the long par four 6th is probably the most demanding hole on the course. A good drive must be followed with an equally as good approach to set up a good scoring opportunity.

Five excellent new holes have been introduced, under the watchful eye of Declan Brannigan, as the club attempts to promote itself as one of the best inland courses in he country.
