Less then hours drive from Dublin city, Ballinlough Castle Golf Club is a must-play course when in Ireland.

A relatively young course, founded in just 1998, it then became affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland just a year later.

The course is also affiliated with the Irish Ladies Golfing Union, underlining its status as a member controlled equal status club.

Situated close to the Meath border, the course was designed by Pat Ruddy. The creator and owner of the fantastic European Club has definitely etched another masterpiece for his already expanding collection.

The designer believes this course will one day be comparable to ‘any parkland stretch in the country and will be ultimately suitable for tournament play should that become a requirement’.

He added that he thought the site to be so good that there are a minimum of eight natural holes just waiting for the challenge loving golfer to take his clubs to. Overall, this is a course you must sample the wonder of before you move on. Whether it is one round or two, you’ll never find the course the same way twice thanks to the temperamental Irish weather and the superb natural hazards the course provides.
