Bangor Golf Club was originally founded in 1903 with a nine hole golf course. In 1905 part of the course moved and the course was extended to 18 holes. The 18 hole layout was designed by James Braid and although the course has been modified it retains many of its original features.
The course is not especially difficult, but it is enough of a challenge to entertain good players without discouraging the less able. The course has attracted several major events, including the Ulster and Irish Professional Championships, and Pro-Ams in which famous golfers like Peter Allis and Tony Jacklin have featured. The course is continually maturing and the greens and fairways would not be out of place on a more famous course.
There are stunning views of Belfast Lough from the top of the 4th and the view from the clubhouse, after a successful round, cannot be beaten.

Directions
From the A2 out of Belfast to Bangor get on the ring road to the Gransha roundabout, turn left signposted 'Town Centre'. After 1/4 mile turn right onto Fairfield road then 50yds later left onto Broadway, the course is on the right.
