As one of Armagh's foremost golfing experiences, Cloverhill was extended to 18 holes in July last year and has never looked back. It enjoys unspoilt views of one of the most panoramic scenes in Irish golf, the Ring of Gullion in South Armagh. The revamped layout offers a challenge to the low handicapper as well as the casual golfer. The combination of narrow, dogleg fairways, difficult to read greens, water hazards (a river dissects the course) and sand traps require strict course management and put a premium on accuracy rather than length. The opener is a great hole for the long hitters. Water comes into play immediately and it demands a very good drive in order to avoid a splashy grave.

The intimidating par three eighth is truly demanding, requiring both nerve and skill. Clubbing is crucial here, as a ball over the back of the green will require a devilish chip and putt.
