Downpatrick Golf Course boasts some of the best scenery of any golf course in Ulster. It has incredible views over Strangford Lough and the Mountains of Mourne and on a clear day the Isle of Man can be seen.

For the past few years the club has been carrying out extensive work changing the contours on the greens and changing the layout of the fairways. In addition a large number of trees and shrubs have been planted to complement the new layout. The course measures 6120 yards, par 70. "Camp", the par 3 11th is one of the most testing and picturesque holes in Ulster. At Hawthorne (the par 5 third) there is a strategically placed bunker 200 yards from the tee.
