Killymoon Golf Club was founded in 1889 and
holds a rich history as it was one of the founder members of the Golfing
Union of Ireland. It is situated in the delightful County Tyrone, on the
outskirts of Cookstown in the heart of Northern Ireland. The course takes
its name from Killymoon Castle.
 An
annual open week is staged in August. In addition, there are various amateur
open events throughout the season, where some of the best players in the
region all compete.
The course is mainly parkland and reasonably flat, although it does pose
quite a challenge to the unwitting golfer, so be on your guard at all
times. It is set on comparatively high ground and boasts a fantastic opening
hole, which bears striking views of Killymoon castle.
