Newcastle west is one of the Championship courses in Shannon that belongs to one of the oldest. The course was relocated to the position it now occupies in 1994 from a 9-hole club and it’s a move that’s paid off handsomely as members and visitors alike now enjoy one of the finest parkland courses in the south west.

Designed by Arthur Spring the new lay-out is set in 160 acres of unspoilt, quiet countryside and has been constructed to the highest USPGA specifications. The course is open all year round and presents top-quality playing conditions by virtue of its free-draining soil.

Built with the needs of the modern golfer in mind the club has invested heavily in its development and can boast facilities which are second to none. It’s home to a driving range, shipping and putting practice greens and a magnificent clubhouse which offers the visitor the very best in Irish hospitality and panoramic views across the countryside.

A forward thinking club with a course that that can surely only get better as the years go by.
