Established in 1999, Slievenamon Golf Club is a flat-but-tight course with tree-lined fairways and carefully positioned greens. Last year it was extended to 5, 000 yards, although, since then, there have been a few changes worthy of note. Two new holes have just been completed and opened in early spring this year. They became the new tenth and eleventh holes, with the present two par threes, the sixth and seventh, being amalgamated to become a new par four. The par four 15th will be amalgamated with the par three 16th to become a new par five.

With this development and the ongoing extension work to the second the par of the course is now 67. Further developments are planned for next year and will see the course extended further, perhaps raising the par to 70. There are also plans for major drainage work to be done on the course early next year. It is one of County Tipperary's most frequented courses and for good reason.
