Address: Palmerstown, Oranmore, Co. Galway,

Athenry Golf Club is situated mid way between Athenry and Oranmore at the townland of Palmerstown in the scenically beautiful County of Galway. The flat tree-lined parkland course is a mixture of parkland and heathland built on a limestone base against the backdrop of a large forest, giving excellent drainage and remaining playable all year round.

Celebrating its centenary last year this pleasant test of golf on the outskirts of Galway City offers a challenge for golfers of all standards on a course, which is quite mid-week. Extended to 18 holes in 1991 under the guidance of renowned architect Eddie Hackett and further improvements in recent years by Eddie Connaughton have led to the club hosting recent provincial and national championships.

Feature holes are a trio of par threes set in the adjoining wood, with the 193-yard 12th, from an elevated tee amongst a corridor of beech and pine trees, the signature hole.
