Founded in 1894, Ballinasloe is one of Connaught's oldest and most treasured golf clubs. A mature and testing parkland course playable all year round, Ballinasloe offers a challenging variety of superb golf holes and it is noted for it's excellent greens and doglegs of which there are eight.

In 1984, Eddie Hackett supervised the expansion from nine to eighteen holes with Eddie Connaughton responsible for improvements in recent times, notably the water features on the 11th and 12th. The 11th, incidentally, is an interesting par five where a good drive to a turn to the right for the approach to the green is required. On the right is a small lake guarding the green with a bunker to the left. It's just one great hole amid many.

Ballinasloe offers a warm welcome and an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards on a reasonably quite course.
