Carrick on Shannon Golf Course is situated on the N4 just 4 miles north west of the thriving town of Carrick-on-Shannon. The course is a nine hole one with advanced plans for an extension to 18 holes. Its most distinguishing feature is a panoramic view of Lake Drumharlow which is part of the Shannon waterway.

The course offers a good test of golf even for the most accomplished golfer. The main hazard and challenge are the many bunkers. In general the course is tight with straight driving more important than length off the tee. There is a practise area where you can "warm up" before tackling the course. There is a practise putting green as well as a practise bunker.

The clubhouse is a warm and friendly environment for visitors to relax and has just been newly refurbished. It is spacious and well equipped and has excellent catering facilities which provides a variety of meals and snacks. A warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed from the locals at Carrick on Shannon, golfing societies are made very welcome.
