Glenlo Abbey Golf Club

The twin, interconnected greens facilitate both nine and 18 hole play at this stunning championship parkland pay-and-play course. Situated in 138 acres of waterfront estate, it is a uniquely laid out golf course with very large double greens and quadruple tees which creates two challenging nine-hole courses back-to-back.

The course boasts rolling hills, lakes and is the closest course to Galway city, making it a favourite with the locals. Glenlo Abbey was formerly the ancestral home of the French and Blake families, two of the 14 tribes that rules over always for centuries. The lakeside course opened in 1995 and commands delightful views over Lough Corrib and the surrounding local area.

The fourth hole features a green surrounded on three sides by the Corrib which is a splendid hole to look at and tricky to play. A state-of-the-art 12 bay driving range was opened in June 1996 and was designed to blend in with its surroundings with a log construction. There is also an on-site hotel with fantastic facilities and suites available on every floor.
