Braemar golf course is Scotland Highest 18 hole course and
is situated at the bottom of Glen Clunie at the foot of the Grampian Hills.
The river Clunie splits the course in two, with water playing a significant
role in two thirds of the 18 holes. As a par 65 the course has no par
5's and seven short holes.

Each
of the par 3's is completely different is style ranging from the short
but tricky 103 yard 6th to the near impossible 245 yard 17th. The second
hole is arguably the most memorable at Braemar. At 369 yards it seems
short but the fairway is tight, lying between heavy clinging rough and
the river Clunie. The second shot is played to a large elevated green
and often requires more club than is readily apparent from the fairway
some 40 feet below.
