Given the modern nature of its clubhouse and excellent layout, you would be forgiven for thinking that Inverurie is a relative newcomer to the Scottish golfing scene.

In truth it has been around for over three quarters of a century and is steeped in rich history that make the club one of the best the highlands has to offer.

Established in 1923, the layout has developed over the years into the polished one you play on today.

With a good variation of holes, there is more than enough here to test even the most accomplished of golfers.

The opening parkland holes are followed by a series of shorter holes around the turn that demand accurate iron play.

Don’t get used to this style of play though as the course changes gears and hits you with a series of short holes that will test your accuracy in the most scenic of surroundings.

After undergoing a major extension, the clubhouse can now accommodate a greater numbers. Just as well because if the golf gets any better they are going to need that extra space.
