Playing this course just reminds you of how fun golf can be. Although quite short and only 9-holes, by virtue of its open coastal position it course can prove to be extremely difficult to score on – and you’re in real trouble if the elements begin to conspire against you.

Nestled on rolling dunes on the outskirts of the fishing village of the same name, the club sits on a premium piece of real estate, with commanding panoramic views over the north sea it’s a definitive little gem.

Although its situated on parkland, the sea breeze infiltrates the course at every given opportunity, making play here comparative to links golf. It’s really the best of both worlds.

The signature hole is the 6th, called ‘Airman’s Leap’ the tee shot here can range from a gentle pitching wedge to a good dig with a five or six iron depending on the wind.

At only 4,000 yards most who play this course have agood chance of shooting below 70, but when you consider that the par is 62 then a quite different prospect arises.
