This beautifully maintained nine-hole parkland course represents a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The opening three holes at Tarland ease players into the round, though visitors are warned to be aware of strategically located bunkers. The fourth green, nestled in a beautiful wooded area, is to be approached with craft to avoid the burn that runs at the front edge of the putting surface. A long and accurate tee shot is then required at the tough par-3 fifth, which measures 233 yards. Thereafter, considered course management is necessary if a player wants to score close to the par of 66, and at 5,816 yards long, precision rather than power is essential at Tarland.

In the spring, summer and autumn months, the clubhouse is open daily from 8.30am until at least one hour after dusk. A golfer’s bar menu is available throughout, and a restaurant menu is available at weekend evenings. Visitors keen to hone their skills and prepare for their game are welcome to use the practice facilities. With the warm hospitality and testing course at Tarland, players will feel compelled to return.
