The village of Juniper Green, located in Edinburgh’s west side, is home to Baberton Golf Club. The club was founded in May1893 and following consultation from two-time Open Champion, Willie Park Junior, Baberton’s nine-hole parkland course was opened in July that year. Reconstruction under the stewardship of James Braid extended the course to the present 18-hole layout.

The front nine flows over the undulating terrain as it follows the boundary of the course, a constant hazard, with the par-3 fifth and seventh holes requiring precise course management and distance control. The picturesque Pentland Hills, Forth Bridges, Edinburgh castle and the Edinburgh skyline are visible from an inward half that contains longer holes and demands length and accuracy from the tee. Scottish professional Brian Barnes holds the current course record of 62.

Snacks, freshly prepared meals and a wide array of wines, whiskies and draught beers can be enjoyed in the Clubhouse as players relax alongside stunning views over Edinburgh and the local countryside.
