The rolling parkland course of Craigmillar Park Golf Club lies three miles south of Edinburgh city centre. Situated near the Royal Observatory on Blackford Hill, Craigmillar Park offers panoramic views over the city of Edinburgh to East Lothian. Formed in 1895, the club moved to its present location in 1925. The course hosts the 72-hole Craigmillar Park Open early in April each year, a prestigious event on the Scottish amateur circuit, with former winners including Master and Open Champion, Nick Faldo.

In recent years an extensive programme of tree planting has enhanced Craigmillar Park’s already excellent reputation. The course measures 5,825 yards from the white tees. A par of 70 with an SSS of 68 means players will have to capitalize on the shorter par-4s to make their handicap. The signature hole is the par-3 15th, which requires precise club selection and a precise strike to reach a dramatically undulating green beyond a water hazard.

Visiting individuals and societies are welcome at Craigmillar Park, with times available from Monday to Friday throughout the year. Due to an active membership, visitors are encouraged to book in advance with the professional shop.
