The Hirsel Golf Club

Referred to as ‘the Augusta of the Borders’, Hirsel is set against a backdrop thick woodland and shrubbery. Founded in 1948 it is a course designed with the leisure golfer in mind. With its generous fairways and open greens, Hirsel means that every golfer can enjoy their round.

That’s not to say it’s all plain sailing, far from it. Three of courses tee shots are blind and the opening hole is particularly tricky. With its deceptively long length and sharp dogleg the temptation to hit over the trees may cause more than a few dropped shots.

A parkland course of immense beauty, Hirsel has been carefully designed to make the most of the surroundings with every hole incorporating the natural hills and hazards of the terrain to challenge players.

With a modern clubhouse containing a Pro-Shop, bar and restaurant, the view from the balcony is magnificent, taking in the breathtaking borders countryside. Members and staff are guaranteed to make you feel welcome and make your day at Hirsel one to remember.
