Opened in 2000 by local golfing hero and former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher, Oatridge Golf Course is a hidden gem of the highest order. Set among gently rolling parkland by the village of Ecclesmachan, the course has become very popular among beginners and experienced players alike, and has been described as “the best 9-hole course in Scotland”.

Golf equipment, trolleys and buggies are available for hire, and golfers can enjoy a coffee and a snack in the clubhouse before or after their round. There is a large practice putting green, a practice area with bunkers and a double practice bay for that last minute warm-up before teeing off.

A warm welcome awaits all visitors to Oatridge, where you are guaranteed an enjoyable day’s golf in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. To uphold the traditions of the game of golf, a standard golfing dress code is in place, with all golfers required to dress in a smart, casual manner.

There are plenty of card wreckers on this nine-hole beauty, notably the par-4 seventh. An imposing carry needs to be made to reach this wide fairway - but the danger doesn’t end there. Several large oak trees guard the right hand side, and a burn 100 yards short of the green needs to be negotiated.
