One of Ayrshire’s oldest club’s, Ardeer is an undulating parkland course, which has magnificent views over the Firth of Clyde. The club is steeped with history, which is hardly surprising considering it was established in 1880 and the club itself has moved sites on a few occasions. Two British Open Champions are also associated with the club, Jamie Anderson who won three times and Willie Fernie won in 1883.

The course itself has matured superbly since it was redesigned and opened in 1966. Reconfigured by Stutt, a large number of trees were planted to border the generous, lush fairways, with the two burns that flow through the layout coming into play at several holes.

The course is deceptively demanding and the ninth and 11th greens have recently been improved, making them both exceptional holes played across the babbling burn. The ninth is easily reachable fro your second shot but the 112th at stroke index 1 is best approached from a lay-up.

The clubhouse also provides some superb facilities and a warm welcome is always extended.
