This tree-lined delight is a traditional Scottish golf club located close to the Ayrshire coast in the heart of Burns country where locals are known to quote poetry in the welcoming and atmospheric clubhouse.

The parkland course is maintained to the highest of standards and visitors to the course often comment on the meticulously manicured nature of the courses tight greens.

The tricky greens and the lush, narrow fairways make for a difficult round of golf, especially when negotiating the sharp bend of the clubs 17th hole and trying to find the fairway on the 11th.

Accuracy off the tee is key and the unforgiving nature of the fairways mean stray shots are often rewarded with trip in the trees or the tricky rough, making this course a real test of skill.

The beginner should not be put off however as relief can be found in other areas of the course. Regardless of the score you shoot or the weather you encounter your experience in Ballochmyle will be one steeped in Burns history and one to treasure.
