Established long ago and the subtle slopes overlooking the villages of Wemyss Bay on the West Coast of Scotland, Skelmorlie is a short and tricky moorland course that should not be underestimated.

Opened in 1891 the course started as a 13-hole course and held the title of the world’s oldest golf 13-hole golf course. However after being extended to a full 18-hole course in 1999 the club lost that particular record.

Although short at 5,030 yards, Skelmorlie has some tough holes and a number of hard-hitting par fours that will test nerve and patience. The testing par 4 10th has not one but two ditches to clear; leaving players with a choice about whether to aim for the middle fairway or try and clear both from the tee.

Visitors will also be welcome to enjoy the clubhouse with catering available to groups when booked for in advance.
