One of the most understated courses in Wales, Dinas Powys is a real treasure. It is ideally located on the outskirts of the old village towards Wenvoe while Cardiff city centre and the M4 are only 10 minutes away.

A delightful little course that overlooks the city and the bay it has some fantastic views across the Bristol Channel and countryside towards the Brecon Beacons. Not only do you get some amazing views of the city below but you also get a small history lesson into the bargain as the course was actually closed in order to grow vegetables during World War II.

The course is a mixture of parkland and meadowland with narrow fairways and small greens to test the best golfers and those of limited ability. A good short game is essential around here, especially if you want a scorecard to make you proud at the end of your round.

The course is littered with challenges, the best of the coming at the eighth as this cheeky downhill par-4 disappears into the forest.
